The first in a series of snapshots from my summer tour of New Zealand in January 2018.
So hey.. I'm still getting the hang of this blogging/posting malarkey, but I need to have some content on my site before it goes live. Instead of trying to churn out some interesting but ultimately ignored copy, I've opted for the 'here is a picture I had handy on my phone' type vibe. This is the view from The Maranui Cafe, a Wellington institution and a 'must see' stop whenever I'm in that part of the country. When I arrived mid-January,a storm was heading for the bay - luckily I love nothing more than sitting in a big ol window and pretending i'm in a very heartfelt and moving music video.
“ By this stage you may be a little obsessed with the city’s offerings - so why not extend your trip and pop out to Lyall Bay to visit the iconic Maranui Cafe (a destination high on the list of all Wellingtonians)? - From The Maranui Cafe website
A big fan of pancakes, I can fully recommend the buttermilk stack with cornflake ice-cream - not the fitspo breakfast of carb-counting gym bunnies, but as you'll come to learn through reading this blog, I'm an avid supporter of treating yourself.
Summer Tour of New Zealand 2018
Since I moved to New Zealand in 1998, I've been lucky enough to spend many a summer touring to some of the remotest and most beautiful spots in the country. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be chronicling some of the details of my most recent adventure - Things I did and loved, things I you shouldn't miss and things I'd maybe skip if i did it again (which I will later in the year !). Have you been to New Zealand ? What are your favorite things ? Or what are you burning to know from a local ?
