Where have the last 7 days gone ? I swear just yesterday I was putting together last weeks link loop ! It's been a bit of a non-stop week for me - there's this idea that teachers just relax in the holidays, but I've had four meetings already to plan some changes to the curriculum next term. In my acting life, a character I've been playing since early last (Erin Landry) has returned once again to cause drama - In case you missed that memo, I sometimes work as an actor, most recently playing a baddie on the local New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street. It's a pretty strange experience having people clutch their children and stare at the supermarket, but that's a post for another time ! Anyway, without further ado - let's have a look at this week's offerings from the internet.
The latest photographic offering from Sameer Raichur : Chariots of Frolic is a really sweet and intimate look at evolving wedding traditions in India. Sat here some 12,000km away, I was really struck by the gentle invitation to see and read about India through Sameer's eyes.

THIS playlist is an oldie but a goody - perfect for both springtime jaunts to farmers markets (if your in the northern hemisphere) or Autumn adventures to find the perfect stormy beach for a stroll.
Next up, my latest podcast obsession: Papercuts. I was a bit late to the party when it comes to podcasts, but I'm getting on the bandwagon early with this one. In this first episode, Jenna, Kiran and Louisa discuss the upcoming Auckland Writers Festival, the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards fiction shortlist (Jenna was a judge!), some great recent reads, and the mysterious and controversial figure that is Jordan B. Peterson. It goes without saying that Jenna Todd is total lady crush material - part dreamy wedding photographer, part bookstore goddess at the cutest bookstore in Auckland, my heart skips a beat every time I see her sailing by effortlessly on her beautiful bike.
In keeping with the theme of not being late to the party, don't be the last person in the world to watch the latest Netflix original docu-drama Wild Wild Country. The soundtrack alone is reason enough for this to become cult viewing, but don't take my work for it, check out the trailer below.
As always with Netflix I devoured this way too quickly - what are you watching right now that's a must see ?
Speaking of cult following, Roz Chast has been published by The New York Times since 1978. Here latest cartoon brought a little tear to my eye.
I finally made it to Daily Bread. This new-ish bakery space in Auckland is home to the most delicious cheese roll I have ever eaten. Lofty space with gorgeous natural light, check. Dreamy baristas and friendly helpful service, check. Kind and patient when your friends super cool dog barks a little, check. Go get some good old fashioned carbs. Yum.
Last but certainly not least THIS little life saver. I've been blessed with some adult pimples that this magic treatment is battling with all it's might. Thank goodness for modern skincare.
